Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mr M Colley (DSL | Deputy Headteacher | SENDCO)

At Leigh St Peter’s CE Primary School, safeguarding is woven throughout our curriculum and everyday school life. Through our PSHE, RHE and Computing curriculum, children are taught how to stay safe, make positive choices and seek help when needed. Pupils learn about online safety, healthy relationships, anti-bullying, consent, mental health and wellbeing, British Values, and how to recognise and respond to situations that may place them at risk. We believe that safeguarding education empowers children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to protect themselves and others, enabling them to flourish academically, socially and spiritually while letting their LIGHT shine.

We teach children how to keep themselves and others safe through the following:

  1. PSHE Curriculum (SCARF)
  2. RHE Curriculum
  3. Online Safety (Computing Curriculum)
  4. Healthy Relationships and Behaviours (School Rules and Routines)
  5. Anti-Bullying Foundations for Success
  6. British Values
