PSHE Lead: Miss G Taylor (Assistant Headteacher)

At Leigh St Peter’s CE Primary School, we are committed to helping every child“let their light shine” (Matthew 5:16) by developing the knowledge, skills and values they need to flourish both now and in the future. Our PSHE curriculum is delivered through the SCARF programme (Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship), which supports children’s personal, social, emotional and health development in a progressive and engaging way.

Through SCARF, children learn how to stay safe, build positive relationships, look after their physical and mental wellbeing, celebrate differences and become responsible citizens. The curriculum encourages children to develop confidence, resilience and respect for themselves and others, helping them to make wise choices and reach their full potential.

Rooted in our Christian vision and values, SCARF enables our pupils to grow into compassionate, responsible and courageous individuals who are ready to contribute positively to their communities and the wider world. By nurturing character, wellbeing and personal development, we support every child to discover their unique gifts and truly let their light shine.

Below is an overview of the PSHE objectives taught within our PSHE curriculum. Our PSHE curriculum is taught weekly for 30 minutes.
