Leigh St Peter’s CE Primary ensures children learn in a safe, happy & caring environment. Within our PSHE and wider whole school curriculum, our pupils are taught how to keep themselves safe, develop positive and healthy relationships and avoid situations where they might be at risk; including by being exploited.
This is supplemented with support from outside agencies such as NSPCC, NHS and Community Police Officers.
If we have any concerns that a child may be suffering harm, we work alongside the Wigan Children’s Safeguarding Board (WCSB) to ensure all children are safe and happy both inside and outside of Leigh St Peter’s CE Primary School
At Leigh St Peter’s CE Primary School, safeguarding is the foundation of how we support children and families to let their light shine. We currently have 5x Designated Safeguarding Leads including the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and both members of our Pastoral Team.
